Trauma Focused Therapy

Trauma-Focused Therapy is a specific approach to therapy that recognizes and emphasizes understanding how the traumatic experience impacts an individual's mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual

well-being.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness focuses on the practice of staying in the "here and now." Mindfulness practices include guided meditation, stillness, and breathing exercises. Using tools from mindfulness can teach clients how to break away from negative thought patterns that can cause a downward spiral into a depressed state so they will be able to fight off depression before it takes hold.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps individuals learn how to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behavior and emotions.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic disorders, etc. Unlike other treatments that focus on directly altering the emotions, thoughts and responses resulting from traumatic experiences, EMDR therapy focuses directly on the memory, and is intended to change the way that the memory is stored in the brain, thus reducing and eliminating the problematic symptoms.

Neurofeedback Therapy

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive treatment that encourages the bain to develop healthier patterns of activity.  The goal of treatment is not only to change how you think and feel, but also to change your brain on a biological level for better functioning.  Cailin can run Neurofeedback sessions for clients covered under Anthem Blue Cross and Aetna insurances. Additional costs will apply that are not covered under insurance. To lean more, contact Cailin today.

Brainspotting Therapy

Brainspotting is defined as an advanced brain-body therapy that focuses on identifying, processing, and releasing trauma, mental health imbalances and residual emotional stress. It is based on the premise that ‘where you look affects how you feel’ and finds that eye positions correlate with unconscious, emotional experiences. When you focus on an eye position related to an upsetting issue, you release the emotional and physical stress within the issue. Brainspotting reaches parts of the brain that are not generally accessed in traditional talk therapy and most other types of therapy.

Are you ready to create change in your life?

My Approach to Therapy

When working with all my clients, I like to maintain and offer a safe space from the moment they walk through the door.

Every person is unique and comes with their own unique experience.

Let's talk about it.

I invite you to be open to learning different perspectives and talking about various topics.

Let's be curious.

I like to work collaboratively with my clients and frame therapy as a "journey" that we embark on together.

This is a journey like no other, and it definitely won't be easy. We will talk about some difficult memories, but it will be life changing in the end indeed.

I enjoy motivating and empowering my clients to reach what it is that they desire out of life.

What is holding you back? What do you want?

I also encourage my clients to be kinder to themselves. Learning about yourself will allow you to be kinder to yourself because you will have developed understanding and compassion for your actions and behaviors.

Give yourself some grace, you have been through a lot.

It's ok to have emotions and voice that you are not ok right now. You're human and we all reach a breaking point.

It takes awareness to bring about change.

And courage.
